VI. CONTINUED DISCUSSION OF PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARLESTON COUNTY ZONING & LAND DEVELOPMENT REGULATIONS ORDINANCE
Amendments discussed at the Jan. 9, 2012 meeting:
a. Section 3.4.6, Approval Criteria, Zoning Map Amendments [Rezonings]: Clarify the approval criteria for Zoning Map Amendments [Rezonings].
b. Section 6.4.7, Dwelling Groups: Clarify requirements for Dwelling Groups and allow fee simple ownership.
c. Section 6.4.54, Kennels: Allow properties zoned AGR and RR-3 to apply for a Special Exception for a Kennel use if they are less than 5 acres in size.
d. Article 6.5, Accessory Uses and Structures: Re-organize article to make it more user friendly and clarify definitions of accessory uses and structures.
e. Appendix A, Road Construction Standards: Add a category for non-standard County roads.
Discussion of additional proposed amendments:
a. Table 6.1-1, Use Table: Allow Hydroponics uses in the RR-3 Zoning District.
b. Article 3.16, Development Agreements: Clarify provisions.
c. Article 9.11, Signs: Add standards for Temporary Special Sales Events signs and Off-Premises Bona Fide Agricultural Use signs.
VII. CONTINUED DISCUSSION OF FORM-BASED ZONING ENABLING LEGISLATION
a. Article 4.28, Form-Based Zoning District: Incorporate provisions for Form-Based Zoning Districts.
