County Assessor’s Mobile Homes Division and Board of Assessment Appeals Offices Move

Charleston County Government announces that the following offices have moved:

Both offices have relocated from the Public Services Building in North Charleston to the County Office Building downtown, where the remainder of the Assessor’s Office staff is already located (101 Meeting Street, Suite 300).

Charleston County’s Revenue Collections Department has taken over the function of issuing mobile home moving permits and decals at its service counter in the Public Services Building. The Assessor’s Office will continue to provide code enforcement for mobile homes.

The Board of Assessment Appeals will continue to hold its meetings at the Public Services Building (4045 Bridge View Drive, 29405), but the staff member assigned to the board will relocate to the County Office Building downtown.

Anyone who has outstanding assessment appeals will be notified of the recent changes. Citizens can bring documents to the downtown office in person, just as they could bring documents to the Public Services Building. There will be a clearly marked bin at the mapping counter in the Assessor’s Office for taxpayers’ use for Board of Assessment Appeals documents.

The Board of Assessment Appeals also has a post office box: PO Box 1868, Charleston County, SC 29402. However, the Board’s phone number, (843) 958-4190, and fax number, (843) 958-4191), remain the same.

Anyone with questions can contact the Charleston County Assessor’s Office at (843) 958-4100.
