Charleston County Offices Move to Consolidate Services
Charleston County Government announces the following office changes that will take effect on Tuesday, July 7:
By grouping these similar functions, Charleston County was able to eliminate seven temporary positions, one full time position, and two delinquent tax office cashiers were transferred to the Treasurer’s Office to assist in the additional collection efforts.
The Charleston County Department of Revenue Collections is also responsible for County business license fees, accommodation fees, HAZMAT (Hazardous Materials) fees, solid waste user fees, franchise fees, stormwater fees and bankruptcy filings. The department administers over 28 municipal contracts for municipal business license services, accommodation services, hospitality services, special tax district services and radio billing services.
