Charleston County Council Announces Vacancies on Boards and Commissions

Charleston County Council announces the following vacancies on boards and commissions:

• Charleston Center Advisory Board

  • 4 vacancies

• Awendaw Consolidated Fire District

  • 6 vacancies

• Weed and Trash Abatement Hearing Board

  • 2 vacancies

• Community Development Advisory Board

  • 1 vacancy for a representative from the financial sector

  • 1 vacancy for a representative from the legal sector

• Disabilities and Special Needs Board

  • 7 vacancies

• Charleston Development Corporation

  • 2 vacancies

• Procurement Appeals Board

  • 4 vacancies

• Firemen’s Insurance and Inspection Fund

  • 4 vacancies for residents in the Awendaw Consolidated Fire District

  • 4 vacancies for residents in the James Island Public Service District

  • 4 vacancies for residents in the Saint Andrew’s Public Service District

  • 4 vacancies for residents in the Saint John’s Fire District

  • 4 vacancies for residents in the Saint Paul’s Fire District

• Accommodation Tax Advisory Committee

  • 7 vacancies, applicants must reside in unincorporated Charleston County and preference will be given to those residing in unincorporated West Ashley and Johns Island

Charleston County Council encourages citizens of Charleston County who are willing to volunteer to serve on one of these important boards to submit an application for appointment. Applications will be considered by County Council’s Administration Policy and Rules Committee at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 22. The committee comprises five members of Charleston County Council. The committee will make recommendations to fill these vacancies to full Council and County Council will vote on those recommendations at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27.
