Charleston County Council Announces Vacancies on Boards and Commissions
Applications accepted through Monday, July 9, 2012
Charleston County Council announces the following vacancies on boards and commissions:
- St. Paul’s Fire District Commission
- 1 vacancy for residents of Edisto Island
- 1 vacancy for residents of Hollywood
- 1 vacancy for residents of Adams Run
- 1 vacancy for residents of Ravenel
- Set Off Debt Collection Officer
- Disabilities and Special Needs Board
- St. Andrews Parks and Playground Commission
- 2 vacancies for residents of St. Andrews Public Service District
- Board of Assessment Appeals
- Forestry Board
- Housing Authority
- Park and Recreation Commission
- Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals
- 1 vacancy for an architect
- 1 vacancy for a civil engineer
- 1 vacancy for a licensed electrical contractor
- Charleston Center Advisory Board
- Awendaw Consolidated Fire District
- 3 vacancies for residents of unincorporated East Cooper
- Weed and Trash Abatement Hearing Board
- Community Development Advisory Board
- 1 vacancy for a representative from the financial sector

- 7 vacancies, applicants must reside in unincorporated Charleston County and preference will be given to those residing in unincorporated West Ashley and Johns Island
Charleston County Council encourages citizens of Charleston County who are willing to volunteer to serve on one of these important boards to submit an application for appointment. The application deadline is Monday, July 9, 2012. To find Charleston County Council’s application for appointment, visit www.charlestoncounty.org.
Applications will be considered by County Council’s Administration Policy and Rules Committee at 5 p.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2012. The committee comprises five members of Charleston County Council. The committee will make recommendations to fill these vacancies to full Council and County Council will vote on those recommendations at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 24, 2012.
