Non-Partisan Filing Dates
Consolidated School Board
1) Method of filing:
a. Petition must be signed by a total of 500 qualified electors of Charleston County.
b. 250 of qualified elector’s signatures must be by electors within district in which candidate will represent.
2) Seats to fill:
a. West Ashley (1 seat to fill) – Incumbent – Sandra Engelman
b. East Cooper (2 seats to fill) – Incumbents – Susan Simons & Gregg Meyers
c. North Area (1 seat to fill) – Incumbent – Raymond Toler
d. City of Charleston (1 seat to fill) – Incumbent – Lurline Fishburne
3) Filing Dates:
a. Petitions may be submitted to the Board of Elections and Voter Registration Office (4367 Headquarters Rd, N Charleston)
i. Noon, Friday, May 19th – Noon, Monday, July 17, 2006
b. Candidate must also complete a Statement of Candidacy and a Statement of Economic Interest at the time they submit their petition
c. Board of Elections and Voter Registration must certify names on candidate’s petition no later than Noon, August 15, 2006.

a. District 1 – St James-Santee (4 seats to fill)
b. District 2 – Moultrie (2 seats to fill)
c. District 3 – James Island (3 seats to fill)
d. District 4 – Cooper River (3 seats to fill)
e. District 9 – St John’s (4 seats to fill)

1) Method of filing:
a. Candidates file by submitting a Petition at the Board of Elections and Voter Registration Office (4367 Headquarters Rd, N Charleston). The Petition must have at least 100 qualified electors of Charleston County sign the petition.
b. Candidate must also file Statement of Candidacy and Statement of Economic Interest at the time they submit their petition.
