Who are the members of a COBRA Team?
Volunteers from Fire Service, HAZMAT, Emergency Medical Service, DHEC and Law Enforcement Personnel
COBRA Team's Mission?
To rapidly respond to and assist jurisdictions in addressing the consequences of a weapons-of-mass-destruction incident. Upon request COBRA assets may also used for incidents involving hazardous materials.
COBRA Response Team's Capabilities
ð Entry into "hot" or contaminated zone for scene reconnaissance and monitoring
ð Rescue of contaminated victims
ð Advise Incident Commander on protective actions
ð Technical decontamination operations for first responders and the general public
ð Mass decontamination operations
ð Triage and treatment of contaminated patients
ð Coordination with the local hospitals for treatment of patients
ð Security for the scene responders
ð Advise on evidence handling
ð Render safe capability for devices
ð Communications and logistical support
