Mission Statement

The Public Works Department provides Charleston County’s residents, commerce and visitors efficient, effective, responsive, and responsible County road and drainage infrastructure management and maintenance, engineering, stormwater, and mosquito control services through its integrated service delivery programs.

Education

The Department is composed of a team of highly trained, well educated, and experienced individuals. Our spectrum of employees ranges from engineers and scientists to trained and experienced field technicians. It is our continued goal to not only provide service, but to use our expertise to educate and inform the citizens we serve.
