Brantley Moody represents District 7 on Charleston County Council. He was first elected in November of 2016 and is currently serving his third term. He also serves as Chair of Environmental Management Committee and is a member of the Finance, Planning & Public Works, Economic Development, and Audit Committees. In addition, he serves as a council representative on the Charleston Museum Board and the Charleston Regional Development Alliance.
Moody was born and raised in Charleston. He earned his Master of Business Administration from The Citadel and his bachelor's degree in finance and real estate from the University of South Carolina. He is a graduate of the South Carolina Banker's College and has a South Carolina Real Estate Broker's License.
In addition to serving on County Council, Moody is actively involved in the community through St. Andrew's Rotary Club, Darkness to Light, Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, and is an active leader in his church.
On Council, he focuses on being responsive to constituent needs, guarding the use of tax dollars, infrastructure improvements in his district, the ultimate completion of the critical I-526 corridor, and countywide economic development. He values accountability, responsiveness, and honesty.

Joe Boykin represents District 8 on Charleston County Council. He was first elected in 2022, and is currently serving his first term, which will expire December 31, 2026.
A graduate of University of South Carolina, Boykin holds a degree in Criminal Justice. He is also a graduate of the SC Criminal Justice Academy, Federal Law Enforcement Training Center, and ATF National Academy.
In addition to serving on County Council, Mr. Boykin is actively involved in the community as a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, a founding member of the International African American Museum, a Group II SC State Constable, and is a past member of The Progressive Club Board of Directors, Johns Island Task Force, Charleston County Board of Zoning Appeals, and the Exchange Club of Charleston.
On Council, he focuses on improving and advancing transportation infrastructure, fortifying and strengthening the Urban Growth Boundary (UGB) through ordinance amendments and intergovernmental agreements with municipal partners, and the preservation of rural lands and greenspace through improvements to the Comprehensive Plan, increased funding for the Greenbelt Program, and maintaining low density zoning in the Agricultural Preservation District.
