Notice of Johnnie Dodds Blvd. Lane Closures Due to Road Work Lane closures will occur from 10 p.m. – 6 a.m. on Friday, March 28 – Monday, March 31y, March 31
Charleston County RoadWise advises the public of lane closures that will occur along Johnnie Dodds Boulevard in Mt. Pleasant.
Specifically, the lane closures will occur from 10 p.m. - 6 a.m. on Friday, March 28 through Monday, March 31. The roads that will be affected by the lane closures are Johnnie Dodds Boulevard and its frontage roads and side streets between the Arthur Ravenel, Jr. Bridge and the I-526 (Mark Clark Expressway)/Chuck Dawley Boulevard interchange.
Only one lane will be closed and at no point will the entire roadway be blocked.
The road work will consist of testing that is needed before project designs can be made to widen Jonnie Dodds Boulevard and make intersection improvements. The project is funded by the Transportation Half-Cent Sales Tax.
The single-lane closures will be continuous, moving from one portion of the road to the next as the work progresses so that the entire area won’t be closed at any time during the testing. The testing will occur in 100-foot increments and last less than two minutes per location.
During the testing, trucks with lighted flashing arrow signs will be on site to warn drivers of the approaching lane closures.
Charleston County RoadWise is the name of Charleston County Government’s management program for the construction of roads, highways, resurfacing, paving and drainage projects that are funded by the Transportation Sales Tax.
