Second Public Meeting on Proposed Folly Road and Camp Road Intersection Improvements
Second public meeting on May 14 to present alternatives and gather additional public input
Charleston County RoadWise is holding a second public meeting to gather input on proposed plans to improve traffic congestion where Folly Road and Camp Road intersect on James Island.
The meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 14, from 7-9 p.m. at the James Island Charter High School (1000 Fort Johnson Road, James Island, S.C. 29412).
The project is funded by the Transportation Half-Cent Sales Tax. Charleston County Council requested to hold a second meeting due to increased public interest in the project.
The public meeting on May 14 will focus on proposed alternatives that will address traffic congestion by improving turning lanes and signalization at the Folly Road and Camp Road intersection.
Those attending the meeting will have an opportunity to make comments, ask questions and review the proposed alternatives for improvements at the intersection.
Charleston County RoadWise is the name of the Charleston County Government’s management program for the construction of roads, highways, resurfacing, paving and drainage projects that are funded by the Transportation Half-Cent Sales Tax.
The Charleston County Transportation Half-Cent Sales Tax bond issuance, which will fund the improvements, was approved by voters in November of 2006.
