Charleston County Posts Monthly Transactions Online

 

In an effort to be even more transparent in its expenditures, Charleston County Government announces that its monthly accounts payable transactions are now available for the public to view online.

 

The report includes payments over $100, and it will be updated monthly.

 

It includes the vendor name; invoice date; description of the transaction; the department/office responsible for the transaction; the budgetary account used to pay for the transaction; the check amount; and the date the check was issued.

 

The report excludes information protected by the S.C. Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and the federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

 

To view the May 2009 expenditure report online, go to the county’s Financial Reports page at http://www.charlestoncounty.org/Departments/Budget/budget4.htm, which also includes the county’s approved budgets, Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports, and millage info by fiscal year.
