Citizen Corps asks you to embrace the personal responsibility to be prepared; to get training in first aid and emergency skills; and to volunteer to support local emergency responders, disaster relief, and community safety.

Local government prepares for everyday emergencies. However, during a disaster, the number and scope of incidents can overwhelm conventional emergency services. The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program is an all-risk, all-hazard training. This valuable course is designed to help you protect yourself, your family, your neighbors and your neighborhood in an emergency situation. To participate in the training course or learn more about CERT, Contact: Jim Tarter at (843) 202-7405 or email jtarter@charlestoncounty.org.

Fire Corps creates the connection between fire/EMS departments and the community, providing a vehicle for citizens to find out which departments in their area are looking for help, and providing resources for departments and citizens to be able to create and sustain Fire Corps programs in the departments in their community. To participate in the training course or learn more, Contact: Jim Tarter at (843) 202-7405 or email, jtarter@charlestoncounty.org.
