Earth Day Art Contest Entry Form

Date: Saturday, April 14, 2012
New Location: Riverfront Park in North Charleston
on former Charleston Naval Base
Time: 11-5 pm
The purpose of Charleston County’s Annual Earth Day Festival is to educate Lowcountry residents about environmental issues in a celebratory atmosphere. This year’s activities will include the Annual Earth Day art contest, science projects, booths focusing on waste reduction, composting, wildlife, energy and water conservation, community exhibits, and promoting a waste-free event!
The festival is a hands-on science-based interactive experience, designed to encourage participants of all ages to develop a deeper understanding of environmental issues. The nationally recognized Earth Day holiday is April 22nd. Earth Day was established in1970 and is now celebrated by a half-billion people around the world. We are doing our part locally by celebrating with families, students, and environmental partners. Please contact the Recycling Center at (843) 720-7111 for more information.
It’s FUN. And it’s FREE! All festival activities and parking are free, except for food purchased from our awesome food vendors. Please help us divert waste from the landfill by using our Resource Recovery Stations set up throughout the festival grounds for all recyclables, compostables, and trash. And please consider coming by foot, bike, bus or carpool (www.ridetricountylink.com or www.ridecarta.com)
Festival program information to be announced soon!
