Peggy Moseley was first elected Charleston County Auditor in 1992 and was re-elected in 1996, 2000, 2004 and again in 2008. She holds a bachelor's degree in business management from Charleston Southern University and a master's degree in business administration from Central Michigan University. She earned the distinction as "Certified Manager" and is a graduate of the Institute of County Officials. Prior to election, Moseley worked for Lockheed Missiles & Space Company in Charleston and as an adjunct professor for business management courses at Charleston Southern University.She has conducted seminars throughout Charleston County. Since assuming office, she has implemented innovative management techniques to improve customer service and public awareness of the property tax process. An active proponent of community service and professional involvement, Moseley has served as president of the National Management Association and as president of the Redbank Toastmasters Club. She is the past chairman and present advisor for the non-partisan Election League. She served as a Johns Island commissioner. She also served as a board member of the American Society for Quality Control, the Charleston Sertoma Club, the St. Andrews Rotary Club, and various Republican women's clubs Charleston County. She is a member of the South Carolina Association of Auditors, Treasurers and Tax Collectors, where she has served on the executive committee representing the Lowcountry. Moseley is the mother of two children: Danny and Deborah, and the grandmother of Natalie and Suzanne.
