Charleston County Council Announces Vacancies on Boards and Commissions

Charleston County Council announces the following vacancies on boards and commissions:

• Construction Board of Adjustment and Appeals

  • One vacancy for a resident state fire marshal

• Saint Pauls Fire District Commission

  • One vacancy for the Edisto Island seat

• Procurement Appeals Board

  • Two vacancies

• Board of Assessment Appeals

  • Three vacancies

• Board of Social Services

  • One vacancy

• Charleston Center Advisory Board

  • One vacancy

• Forestry Board

  • One vacancy

• Library Board of Trustees

  • One vacancy

• Charleston Regional Development Alliance

  • One vacancy

• Park and Recreation Commission

  • Four vacancies

• Firemen’s Insurance and Inspection Fund (one percent commission)

  • One vacancy from James Island Public Service District

  • Two vacancies from St. Pauls Fire District

  • Three vacancies from St. Andrews Public Service District

Charleston County Council encourages citizens of Charleston County who are willing to volunteer to serve on one of these important boards to submit an application for appointment. Applications will be considered by County Council’s Administration Policy and Rules Committee at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2009. This committee comprises five members of Charleston County Council. The committee will make recommendations to fill these vacancies to full Council, and County Council will vote on those recommendations at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, 2009.
