The Therapeutic Child Treatment Program (TCT) provides treatment and a safe environment for children (up to age 6) whose parents are in the New Life Program or other Charleston Center inpatient or outpatient programs. Charleston Center also takes a limited number of children from the community even if their parents are not in services.
Not just a daycare, the TCT professional staff knows that children of addicted parents have their own set of emotional and/or developmental problems ranging from Fetal Alcohol Syndrome to lack of age-appropriate social skills.
Medical and nursing staff are available on site to handle unexpected situations.
Each child is assessed, given a treatment plan and provided a variety of treatment and recreation options.
Counselors work together with children and parents to improve good parenting skills.
