Specialized Chemical, Ordnance, Biological, Radiological (COBRA) WMD (Weapons of Mass Destruction) Response Team Volunteers from Fire Service, HAZMAT, Emergency Medical Service, DHEC and Law Enforcement Personnel To rapidly respond to and assist jurisdictions in addressing the consequences of a weapons-of-mass-destruction incident. Upon request COBRA assets may also used for incidents involving hazardous materials. ð Entry into "hot" or contaminated zone for scene reconnaissance and monitoring ð Rescue of contaminated victims ð Advise Incident Commander on protective actions ð Technical decontamination operations for first responders and the general public ð Mass decontamination operations ð Triage and treatment of contaminated patients ð Coordination with the local hospitals for treatment of patients ð Security for the scene responders ð Advise on evidence handling ð Render safe capability for devices ð Communications and logistical support
