History
In October 2002, the Facilities Management Department and Internal Services Department were formed. Originally, the two departments were combined and known as the General Services Department, which was established in 1989. The General Services Department centralized many functions which were once performed by other departments, such as telephone and copier repair, mail delivery and records storage. The benefit of this centralized support service was a coordinated program which maximizes resources and minimizes duplication.
