Welcome to Charleston County Government Online

Our Mission:  We will promote and protect the quality of life in Charleston
County by delivering services of value to the community.

Electronics Recycling

CellIt is important to recycle electronics rather than throwing them away because they often contain valuable resources such as precious metals (gold or silver), more common metals (aluminum and copper) and engineered plastics. Recycling electronics helps to recover the materials that, although valuable, can be harmful to the environment and to also conserve landfill space.

We suggest donating working electronics to charity. But if your electronics are not in working order, you can bring them to any one of Charleston County's eight Recycling Convenience Centers that accept electronics.

The Environmental Management Department recycles electronics with the state-contracted company, Creative Recycling.
