2012 Summer Youth Work Program

The 2012 Summer Youth Work Program is an opportunity for high school and college students to explore possible careers, have a meaningful employment experience, and develop essential work readiness skills. The purpose of the program is to provide students residing in Charleston County with the opportunity to learn how their local government works and basic work readiness skills.

The program will provide students with meaningful work that will include experiencing job tasks and training that will add to their development. The program will embrace a variety of jobs and approaches within Charleston County Government departments, the offices of elected and appointed officials and departments from local municipalities participating in the program.

Eligibility

The program dates are: Monday, June 4 to Thursday, July 19, 2012. The program is for Charleston County residents between the ages of 16-21 who are in high school or college.

Recruitment

Applications for the 2012 Summer Youth Work Program are only available and can be completed at one of the recruitment events listed below. Applications cannot be emailed, faxed or submitted in person.

The recruitment event days are the ONLY days applications will be accepted. If you miss any of these days, you will NOT be able to submit a late application or participate in this year’s program.
