<p class="osmall" style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;">Charleston County encourages residents to learn more about recycling and waste by touring our facilities and hosting workshops and presentations.</p>
<p class="subtitle">Tours</p>
<p class="content">Tours of the Recycling Center usually last about one hour. Be sure to wear closed-toe shoes when walking around the Recycling Center. Safety glasses will be provided.</p>
<p class="content">Tours of the Bees Ferry Landfill and the Compost Facility are also offered.</p>

<p class="subtitle">Presentations</p>
<p class="content">Presentations are geared to the appropriate age level and are available on the following subjects:</p>
<ul>
<li class="content"><strong>Recycling 101</strong> - The how and whys (and why not more) of recycling.<br/>
&#160;</li>
<li class="content"><strong>Paper Recycling</strong> - A look at the paper stream. Make paper from pulp.<br/>
&#160;</li>
<li class="content"><strong>Where is Away?</strong> - Students examine their lunch and classroom's daily garbage production and are taught how to pack a waste-free lunch.<br/>
&#160;</li>
<li class="content"><strong>Environmental Shopping</strong> - How to be a part of the solution. Play "musical resources" to learn how we all lose when resources are wasted.<br/>
&#160;</li>
<li class="content"><strong>Producers, Consumers, Decomposers</strong> - Learn about composting, and set up a worm bin.</li>
</ul>

<p class="content">Individualized programs can be developed for your needs. Seasonal e-newsletters are prepared for principals and teachers.</p>
