Charleston County Consolidated 9-1-1 Center now offers a free, new service to help you when you call 9-1-1.

Once you've signed up, 9-1-1 call takers will be provided important information that will help them address your emergency. This information - including photos, medical issues and current location - can help Police, Fire, and EMS locate and help you. Register Now.

How Does Smart911 Help?

Better informed first responders are better equipped to help you. With Smart911, paramedics can be made aware of critical medical information like Alzheimer's or allergies and Police have children's descriptions in case of an Amber Alert. Also, Fire Fighters know household details including how many people live in the home as well as how many animals.

How Does Smart911 Work?

The service provides the public with the ability to enter information that they want to make available to 9-1-1 call takers through a secure website at www.Smart911.com or the free Smart911 app found in the Google Play store and the Apple store. Smart911 then delivers this information automatically to the call taker's work station for any 9-1-1 call placed within Charleston County. Smart911 will also deliver your profile information if you call 9-1-1 in another area (city, county, and municipality) that uses the Smart911 system. What Details Are Shared?

You decide. Smart911 allows you to store any critical care and emergency rescue information online in advance of any emergency. Information can include photos, medical conditions, disabilities, home and work addresses of mobile phone callers or other rescue-related information. View the complete list of options.

How Do I Register?

The registration process is quick and easy... just four simple steps! After completing the steps, you will have a chance to add optional information or edit the information you have provided. You must complete all the steps including phone number confirmation.

How Can I Spread the Word?

Protect your family and community - tell them about this free service. Email them or tell them via Facebook. Also - for those working with local groups, employers, or special needs groups, - there are additional tools for you to help spread the word.
