Mission Statement: To ensure the participation of small businesses in the competitive processes of public procurement, and to provide training and development opportunities to support their growth.
Charleston County Government is committed to enabling small business enterprises to compete in the County procurement process. On September 4, 2007, County Council unanimously passed an ordinance creating the Charleston County Small Business Enterprise Program.
Charleston County's Role
To certify Small Business Enterprises for contracting and procurement opportunities in the areas of:
- Construction
- Architecture and engineering
- Professional services
- Goods and supplies
- Other services
Certification Benefits
- Certification will allow your company to receive maximum exposure to the public procurement process, as well as ensure that your company is included in all training, networking and development opportunities.
- Certification will improve the County's ability to secure goods and services from viable small businesses and increase the procurement base.
